Our collection contains a wide range of material for entertainment, information, education and inspiration. Most items can be borrowed freely, though some may attract a small charge or be 'reference only' meaning that you are welcome to study the item in the library, but cannot take it home.

Adults´ collections

Hot Picks

Our Hot Picks collection is mostly fiction but includes some non-fiction titles. Items remain Hot Picks for six months before being added to the general collection. A Loyalty card is available - borrow 5 and get the sixth loan for free. Find our Hot Picks in the library catalogue.

Daily newspapers

  • Each library receives a copy of "The Press" and these are kept for a minimum of one week.
  • New Zealand and many Overseas publications are available on PressReader.

Research and special collections

Electoral rolls

Our libraries that are also service centres hold a variety of local government publications as well as the following electoral rolls:

  • Darfield Library: electoral rolls for the Rakaia, Waimakariri and Te Tai Tonga electorates
  • Leeston Library: Selwyn and Te Tai Tonga rolls
  • Lincoln Library: complete set of the current electoral rolls
