Selwyn Libraries is a partner member of the Aotearoa Peoples Network Kaharoa (APNK), a service provided by public libraries and the National Library of New Zealand to connect people with free broadband internet and computing equipment.

Free WiFi

You can connect to the free, secure APNK WiFi network from any of our Selwyn Libraries branches, including our mobile Edge Connector Service, either from your own device or from an APNK computer.

Each of our four Selwyn Libraries branches has APNK ChromeStations (desktop computers) and Chromebooks (laptops) available to use for free while in the library. Headphones are also available for use - please ask a library staff member.

You will find the Chromebooks in a central charging station. You are welcome to take one, then collect a slip from the library desk, which contains login details for a free 30-minute session (this can be extended depending on demand). Bookings may be required during periods of high use.

Find more information on using APNK Chrome devices.

You can use the APNK computers to:

  • Access web-based email
  • Browse the internet
  • Access and print documents that are online, or on a personal USB stick (charges apply)
  • Scan pictures or documents (free)
