Selwyn Libraries operates four physical sites, and one mobile library service. Te Ara Ātea in Rolleston is a multi-functional cultural hub, which contains a full library service, while our libraries at Lincoln, Leeston, and Darfield also function as Selwyn District Council Service Centres. This means you can do simple transactions there such as:
- registering your dog
- paying your rates
- applying for a rates rebate - please contact us to make an appointment
- lodging Council related mail and applications
All our sites offer printing (including a 3D printing service), and scanning (click here for charges), free WiFi and computers, and regular programming activities.

Edge Connector Service
*UPDATE 29 May 2026*
Due to significant staffing constraints across the Selwyn Libraries network, we are focused on keeping our four physical sites open. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to run the Edge Connector service during June and July, but remain committed to restoring this as soon as possible and will provide updates as we are able. Thank you for your understanding.

The Edge Connector Vehicle (ECV) delivers a modern library experience across the Selwyn district. This includes bringing programmes and library resources to communities, schools, preschools and community groups who don’t have easy access to one of Selwyn Libraries’ four physical locations. You will also see the ECV supporting many public events across Selwyn.
The vehicle is equipped with free WiFi, which is not only available for customers to use, but also allows staff to carry out core library services, such as signing up new members, issuing books, and helping people connect to our digital library.
Visit our What's On page to find the ECV's latest schedule.
